Came home from our weekend in portland last night to the most wonderful houseguest and sister, in town for “she’s geeky.” The figs and flowers were only part of the homecoming; there was a chicken roasting in the oven with onions and apples and the most delicious brie cheese, perfectly ripe and delectable. We have until wednesday, so much fun!

We biked today, two kids on “trail a bikes” behind the grownups, along Sawyer Camp Trail. The trail fronts this reservoir, and ends at the San Andreas Dam. We stopped there to admire the view, have a snack, and then biked the 5 miles back through the cool, shady trees and hot, dry stretches of the bike path. Perfect fall weather and a wonderful outing!
