I think this is a hosta? Drawn from the window, in the cool of the air conditioning…

  • Fog Mood

We are heading out of town for two weeks and I will not be able to post (although I will draw!) I am looking forward to warm summer days and a change of scenery!

  • Theo on the swing

I have been feeling so disconnected from the drawing recently, so busy with other things. Today I sat on a park bench and let go of all the things on the to-do list. I told myself I’d draw as long as I could. Pencil, then pen, then gouache from my tiny paintbox…not finished, but satisfying to be present in the act of looking and making.

  • Weekend Posting

A quick sketch done while waiting for a friend…I just liked the shapes, some geometric and some organic. And then a sunday night indulgence. Just survived a single parenting weekend, the kids are in bed, and I am enjoying a glass of wine and a small dish of kettle chips.

These are nowhere near as flavorful as freshly peeled and sliced carrots (my sister margaret can make carrots into gorgeous long, thin swirly spears) but they are handy…
